1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using any Beetle app, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use our Apps.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Beetle platform.
- Drivers must hold a valid Tanzanian driver's licence and meet all applicable LATRA requirements for the vehicle type they operate.
- Shop owners must be operating a lawful business within Tanzania.
- By using the Apps, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when registering.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at safetanzania.tech@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- You may not create multiple accounts or share your account with others.
4. The Beetle Platform
Beetle is a technology platform that connects:
- Shop owners who need goods delivered to customers;
- Drivers who provide delivery transportation services;
- Customers who receive deliveries.
Beetle is not a delivery company. We provide the technology platform that facilitates connections between independent drivers and shop owners. Drivers are independent service providers, not employees or agents of Safezone Tech.
5. Driver Terms
5.1 Registration and Verification
To become a Beetle Driver you must submit:
- Valid national ID (NIDA)
- Valid driver's licence
- LATRA licence document
- Vehicle registration document
- Police clearance certificate
Your account will be subject to review and approval. We reserve the right to reject or suspend any driver registration.
5.2 Driver Obligations
- You must operate your vehicle safely and in compliance with all applicable Tanzanian traffic laws.
- You must maintain a valid driver's licence and all required vehicle documentation at all times.
- You must treat packages with care and deliver them in the condition received.
- You must be courteous and professional with shop owners and customers.
- You must use the pickup code to confirm package collection and obtain confirmation of delivery from the recipient.
- You must not accept cash payments outside of the platform's payment system.
- You must keep your GPS location active during active deliveries.
5.3 Driver Status
Drivers are independent contractors. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between you and Safezone Tech. You are responsible for all taxes, insurance, and expenses related to your vehicle and delivery activities.
6. Shop Owner Terms
- You are responsible for accurately describing packages, including weight, size, and fragility.
- You must provide correct pickup and drop-off coordinates.
- You must confirm the assigned driver before they proceed to pickup.
- You are responsible for the contents of packages you send. You may not send prohibited items (see Section 10).
- You agree to pay the delivery fee as calculated by the platform based on distance and vehicle type.
- You must not request personal information from drivers beyond what is provided by the platform.
7. Customer Terms
- You must provide a valid delivery address and be available to receive your delivery.
- You must provide the delivery code to the driver to confirm receipt of your package.
- You are encouraged to rate your delivery experience honestly.
- You may not attempt to cancel deliveries that are already in progress without contacting the shop owner.
8. Delivery Fees and Payments
- Delivery fees are calculated based on the distance between pickup and drop-off and the selected vehicle type.
- The platform will display an estimated fee before the request is submitted.
- Final fees may vary slightly based on the actual route taken.
- Safezone Tech may take a service fee from delivery transactions as disclosed in the app.
- Drivers receive payment for completed deliveries. Disputes about payment must be raised within 7 days of the relevant delivery.
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing at any time with reasonable notice.
9. Ratings and Reviews
- All users may submit honest ratings and reviews about delivery experiences.
- Ratings must be based on genuine experiences. False or misleading ratings are prohibited.
- Safezone Tech may remove ratings that violate these Terms.
- Drivers with consistently low ratings may be suspended pending review.
10. Prohibited Conduct
You must not use the Beetle platform to:
- Send illegal goods, contraband, drugs, weapons, or hazardous materials.
- Deceive, defraud, or harm other users.
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate drivers, shop owners, customers, or Safezone Tech staff.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy any part of the platform.
- Create fake accounts or manipulate ratings.
- Use the platform for any purpose other than legitimate delivery services.
- Violate any applicable Tanzanian or international law.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination and may be reported to relevant authorities.
11. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, and software in the Beetle platform are the property of Safezone Tech or its licensors. You may not use, copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without our prior written consent.
12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
THE APPS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
- Safezone Tech does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
- Safezone Tech is not liable for delays, losses, or damage caused by drivers, weather, traffic, or other factors outside our control.
- Safezone Tech is not liable for the conduct of any driver or shop owner.
- To the maximum extent permitted by Tanzanian law, Safezone Tech's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid in fees in the 30 days preceding the claim.
13. Termination
- You may close your account at any time by contacting us at safetanzania.tech@gmail.com.
- We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, provide false information, or if we determine your use poses a risk to other users or the platform.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Apps ceases immediately.
- Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and governing law) will survive.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via in-app notification or email. The updated Terms will be effective from the date indicated. Continued use of the Apps after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
